Alison Brie is an American actress best known for portraying Annie Edison on Community, Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, and Rebecca Walters in Scream 4. Alison Brie was born in Hollywood, California and grew up in the Los Angeles suburb of South Pasadena.
Her mother, Joanne (née Brenner), works at the non-profit child care agency Para Los Niños, Her was a teacher at a community college, and her father, Charles Terry Schermerhorn, is a musician and freelance entertainment reporter. Ranked as having one of the most beautiful famous faces by "The Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Famous Faces From Around the World.
She was ranked #5 in 2010 and #18 in 2009. Worked as a clown before becoming an actress. Interested in acting at an early age, Alison Brie began her career performing in community theater shows at the Jewish Community Center in Los Feliz. Her very first role was "Toto" in the Wizard of Oz.
After graduating from South Pasadena High School in 2001; Alison attended California Institute of the Arts where she received her BFA in Acting. While there, she was one of the original cast members in the world premiere of The Peach Blossom Fan, performed as the inaugural theater production at Disney's REDCAT Theater in Downtown LA.
During that time, Alison also studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. One of Brie's first television roles was the minor character Nina, a novice hairdresser, on Hannah Montana. She then went on to star in the web series My Alibi, and was chosen for the role of Trudy Campbell in Mad Men.
She is also a main cast member on Community as Annie Edison. On April 15, 2010, Brie co-hosted G4's Attack of the Show!. Brie has also appeared for a short segment on the G4 show, Web Soup. She had a role in the 2010 film Montana Amazon.[10] She made Maxim's 2010 Hot 100 list at number 99 and Maxim's 2011 Hot 100 list at number 49.
She had a role in the horror film Scream 4, as Sidney Prescott's assistant, Rebecca Walters. The film was released on April 15, 2011. She appeared alongside Jason Segel and Emily Blunt in The Five-Year Engagement, which was released April 27, 2012. Since then, she has continued to work in film and TV. Alison currently lives in South Pasadena.
